CHARLES POLLAK DDS

CARING | PERSONALIZED | NO-WAIT | NO-PAIN DENTISTRY

If you

If you are looking for a dentist who is a master-of-his-craft and who also respects your time (I take pride in giving my patients my undivided attention and I never rotates between multiple patients), look no further.

I have been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry for 30 years. I am also quite unique by having trained for years as a lab technician (the unsung heroes who actually make crowns look so good). As a four-year term clinical instructor at NYU Dental School, I enjoy educating my patients on all aspects of dentistry and I give even the most phobic patient the time he or she needs to feel relaxed while all procedures are explained thoroughly.

Ninety eight percent (98%) of our dental patients come back (2% simply moved out-of-state). From a thorough cleaning to teeth whitening, fillings, crowns, bonding, veneers, root canal and implants, the great dental team at Charles Pollak DDS is eager for you to experience why we consistently get five-star reviews.

CHARLES POLLAK DDS Journey in general and cosmetic dentistry

Dr. Charles Pollak's passion for cosmetic dentistry perfection began before he even considered it as a career. Having originally trained as a dental technician, he entered NYU dental school with the encouragement of his colleagues in the lab. Once enrolled, his kindness, compassion and willingness to tutor late into the night won the hearts of both his fellow students and professors, and earned him the peer-voted NYU Chancellor's Service Award for Volunteerism – an award given to only one student in the entire university in any given year – and the coveted Dr. Sydney T. Silverman Award for excellence in dental care and outstanding commitment to humanitarian values.

Dr. Pollak enjoys educating his patients about the relationship between dentistry and optimum physical health. He often visits senior centers and schools to teach adults and children as young as pre-schoolers the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. Because of his prior experience as a dental lab tech, Dr. Pollak approaches dental prosthetics with a craftsman's keen eye, and is exceptionally skilled in fabricating restorations such as crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and porcelain veneers.

Born in Romania, Dr. Pollak spent his childhood in Israel before moving to New York City in his teens. Dr. Pollak speaks several languages – Hungarian, Hebrew, Yiddish and some Romanian. He has trained in the martial arts, particularly the Wing Chun style of Kung Fu, which was introduced to America by Bruce Lee. He enjoys ballroom dancing, soccer and bowling, and has an appreciation for ethnic diversity best expressed through his love of folk dancing. He has been a member of, and continues to dance with, international folk dance ensembles, an activity he finds almost as satisfying as creating beautiful smiles for his patients.

Dr. Pollak is a member of the American Dental Association - www.ada.org and New York County Dental Society {a.k.a First District Dental Society} - www.nycdentalsociety.org
